REVISED GROUP & SUBGROUPS RULES. PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.
The following Group & Subgroups Rules have been designed to make sure Reinvent I.T. and subgroups remains professional, vibrant, and useful for all Group & Subgroups Members. Their main objectives are:
- Maximize the quality of the Group & Subgroups content.
- Ensure the safety of Members.
- Make sure Discussions are used for “Discussions” ONLY, that is for non-commercial questions & topics that can generate Member participation.
- Maximize networking opportunities for Recruiters and Job Seekers.
- Organize a flow of information.
Since there will always be some gray areas for such Rules, Reinvent I.T. Moderation team have all freedom to interpret the Rules, so that the objectives mentioned above are achieved. Please feel free to use the Comments area to share your support, ideas, suggestions, or any concern you may have.
RULE #1: ALL POSTINGS MUST BE WRITTEN IN FRENCH OR ENGLISH. THE GROUPS ARE BILINGUAL.
Our Group Moderators will delete all postings that are not written in either English or French, since other languages cannot be moderated.
RULE #2: POSTINGS MUST BE RELATED TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES.
This is a Group focusing on IT: Postings must be clearly related to Information Technologies. Unrelated subjects will be deleted.
RULE #3: BE KIND, POLITE, AND RESPECTFUL OF OTHER MEMBERS.
This is a professional forum. It is unacceptable to post or send unprofessional, abusive, aggressive, insulting, or otherwise inappropriate messages. Substantiated complaints will result in the author being removed and blocked from the Group & Subgroups.
RULE #4: OPEN NETWORKERS INVITATIONS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
LinkedIn Terms of Use does not authorize to publish email address for the purpose of growing the number of direct connections. The practice known as “Linked In Open Networking” or “LION” is not authorized in our Groups.
RULE #5: PROMOTIONS OF PRODUCTS & SERVICES (EVEN WHEN FREE) ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Reinvent IT is a place to discuss ideas, not to promote products and services, even free services, including free webinars. All promotions of products and services will be deleted. Spammers will be removed and blocked from the Group & Subgroups.
RULE #6: USE THE ‘PROMOTIONS’ SECTION FOR ALL EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS.
The Group or Sub-Groups PROMOTIONS Sections are the only place for announcements, including events, news articles, blogs, market surveys, press releases, and other announcements to Group or Subgroup Members.
RULE #7: SPAM MESSAGES AND POSTINGS ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
Forbidden spamming include:
- Sending multiple unsolicited messages to Group or Subgroup Members. Substantiated complaints will result in the spammer being removed and blocked from the Group and Subgroups.
- Posting the same Discussion or News repeatedly in order to promote a product, service, or company.
- Posting commercial Comments in Discussions or Jobs – when such Comments have nothing to do with the Discussion.
- Posting Comments in one’s own Discussion for the sole purpose of making it go to the top of Discussions.
RULE #8: ATTENTION FOR JOB SEEKERS & RECRUITERS.
The “Jobs” section in the Main Group is reserved for job-related subjects. Our Groups does NOT allow the use of Discussions to advertise job search or job opportunities. All job-related posting in Discussions will be moved to Jobs.
The Jobs section is reserved to job seekers and employment offers. Forbidden postings under the Jobs tabs include, and are not limited to Job Portal ads, Multi-Level Marketing offers, job or resume coaching services, articles, blogs, or marketing or promotional notices of any kind .
RULE #9: BLOGS, ARTICLES, VIDEOS, & PODCASTS.
Blogs, Articles, Video feeds, and Podcasts are welcome in the Promotions Section. This section includes features (sharing, “thumb up”, views counter, link to website) which are very beneficial in terms of viral marketing and Search Engine Optimization.
Links to Blogs, Articles, Video feeds, and Podcasts can be posted as a Discussion ONLY IF:
- the Discussion’s “Additional Details” summarize key elements of the item,
- Members are invited to participate by posting Comments WITHIN the Reinvent I.T. Group or Subgroups Discussion forum,
- the invitation to visit the blog or article url is discrete, i.e. placed after the author’s signature. The information provided in the “Additional Details” area of the posting should be reasonably “self contained,” allowing Members to comment on the question/topic WITHOUT having to visit the blog or click on the item url.
Using a Discussion simply to advertise a blog or promote an Article/Video/Podcast is strictly forbidden.
RULE #10: ANY INFRIGEMENT OF THESE RULES OR THE LINKEDIN USER AGREEMENT CAN LEAD TO THE MEMBER REMOVAL.
Members who break any of Reinvent I.T. Group & Subgroups Rules or any of the LinkedIn User Agreement’s DOs and DON’Ts (see http://www.LinkedIn.com/static?key=user_agreement) will receive up to two reminders. If the same rule is broken three times, the Moderator will remove and block the infringing Member without additional notice. Members who gravely infringe Rules 3 or 7 or any of the LinkedIn Terms of Use are also subject to immediate removal without notice.
